Why? Price and car availaility
They are bundled with Thrifty, and located off-airport, but the low rates are really attractive.  Check rates

Convenience Only:

 hertz-rental-car-st-thomas   Hertz Rental Car
Why? Convenience
The counter is a short walk from where you arrive, and the cars at the airport. They are a great option, so if you usually rent from Hertz, do so here as well. Our experience has been better deals and service with the companies listed above. Check rates

THE BEST BEACHES

St Thomas has so many amazing beaches, that you can go to a different beach every day and feel like that day was better than the last. Hit as many as you can, I promise you will love it!

Magens Bay is considered the #1 beach on St Thomas. It's $4 per person to get in, and $2 to park. It has bathrooms, a food stand and bar, they'll even serve you drinks while you float in the water, plus have showers to rinse off after.  This is a must do day.

Coki Beach is the BEST for snorkeling so take some pretzels, crackers or a snack food and snorkel gear. Then go to the right hand side and look wade out a little more than waist deep and start feeding the fish. It will be an insanely cool fish feeding frenzy of harmless fish 8" to 12" long in all sorts of amazing colors. Sergeant Majors, Purple Tang, Yellowtail snapper, Queen Angelfish and so many more. Also just a great beach to chill at with food stands, drinks and servers on the beach.

Sapphire beach is gorgeous and great for relaxing, snorkeling, walking, taking in more turquoise colors than you knew existed and to grab some drinks at their tiki bar.  Free to get in, go and enjoy!

Lindquist beach is one of the best kept secrets in the world. It's $2 to get in, and no bathrooms or food there. Pack a bag and enjoy some of the best sand and water you'll see as close as it gets. Trust me, google it and check the photos.

Honeymoon Beach on Water island is a great day trip. That ferry is 20 mins away in Crown Bay Marina, and the ferry runs every 30 mins. There a free taxi will take you to Honeymoon Beach, and head to Dingy’s. You will have an awesome day. The ferry is appx $5 each person.

So many more, we'll keep adding.

THE BEST PLACES TO EAT & DRINK

Special occasion & sunset:

  • Hit the Mafolie Restaurant at the Mafolie Hotel. Great sunset views, you want a table and reservation 30 mins before sunset.

  • In Red Hook

    • XO Bistro is my #1 pick anywhere… it’s a wine bar meets restaurant up in the strip mall across from Duffy's with great food and always has Air Conditioning. Get the Tuna Sha-shimi, the Shrimp Scar-go, the Scallops, and that’s to start. You will love it.

    • PESCE is a great place with lots of options.

    • Island Time Pub is on the 2nd floor along the water, in the middle that has GREAT pizza, drinks, atmosphere and prices, plus views over the marina and to St John.

    • Caribbean Saloon is not high end, but has so many great options. Can’t miss, AC, TVs for sports. Everyone can enjoy a great meal here.
    • RAW sushi is an excellent sushi spot that everyone I know that loves sushi really love.
    • Bernies’s and Tap & Still are both great spots for lunch or burgers for dinner.
    • Duffy’s is a great spot for drinks and dancing in a tiki bar at night. Wednesdays is Lobster night!
    • Latte’s in Paradise is your pace for coffee and breakfast sandwiches in the morning.
    • Before you get to Red Hook, you will find Pangea is just down the road on the left at the Pools & Pavilions complex with great drinks and food.

    In Havensight

    • Brix down in Havensight is a nice wine bar and classy place with AC, but not overly dressy. It is across from the Tap & Still (more on that in a minute).
    • Next to Brix is Rock City Brewing Company which is a local group that started a small brewery. Great beer, and I think they have some food.
    • Hit Tap & Still for burgers, beers, great drinks, a super fun atmosphere and more.

    • Hit Dog House Pub for beers and apps.
    • Navy Beach is a great spot right on the water near all the mega yachts.

    Other great places:

    • For great steaks, go to Island View Steakhouse. The food is amazing, and so is the view. You need reservations because they only have 2 seatings each night.
    • Prime Steakhouse is also great for steaks.
    • Virgilios has amazing Italian food, it is in Charlotte Amalie.
